• I had various clients in Pan India, in industries such as manufacturing, retail, food & beverage, real estate, bakery manufacturing and distribution, film exhibitor, and hospitality.
• My manufacturing clients include the steel industry and food production, where I have 4 years as a virtual CFO and management consultant. ERP used is SAP Business One.

GM Finance | EFS Facilities Services India Pvt ltd | Oct 2016 to Sep 2017 | India

• Industry exposure – total facilities management, which includes engineering services, cleaning and maintenance, security, and back-office services.
• Managing and overseeing the finance department and financial process for Pan India. This included managing the activities and processes in accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, statutory audit, internal audits, budgets, process changes, organizational restructuring, compliance functions, closing process, MIS presentation, relationships with clients, suppliers, banks, auditors, lawyers, valuers, and other departments.
• There were 8 locations and 120 projects and 20 finance staff Pan India and a total annual revenue of INR 250 to 300 Cr.
• Major achievements include – restructuring the finance organization to ensure better productivity and achieve timelines. Cleared backlog of financial audit to meet ROC timeline, completed budget for the Year 2017 in accordance with group time frame. Developed the GST task force and facilitated the implementation of GST in the company.

Finance Controller | EFS facilities services LLC | Apr 2010 to Oct 2015 | UAE

• Industry exposure includes.
  –  total facilities management, which includes engineering services, cleaning and maintenance, security, and back-office services.
  –  I was seconded as the Financial Controller for other investment companies in the Group doing business in retail and food & beverage.
• Managing and overseeing the finance department and financial process for UAE. This included managing the activities and processes in accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, audit, budgets, process changes, organizational restructuring, closing process, MIS presentation, relationships with clients, suppliers, banks, auditors, lawyers, valuers, and other department heads.
• Major achievements include – Improved cash position, supplier relations through negotiations, and meeting payment plan commitments. I was also a part of the JD Edwards implementation. Had been instrumental in setting up a complete warehouse and inventory system from scratch for the facilities division in UAE. In the subsidiary food and beverage unit, I was instrumental in the improvement of the profitability from an operating loss of USD 200K to an EBITDA margin of USD 1.4 M.
• Reason for leaving – redundancy due to economic downturn and drastic cost reduction as a part of the organizational restructuring.

• Industry exposure – Property Development
• I was responsible for the accounting functions of three major iconic projects in UAE and Bahrain under the leadership of UAE government. Scope of work involved overseeing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, MIS presentation, cash flow projection, month end closing, statutory audit, tender review, meeting with suppliers, cost consultants and project teams, budget Vs actual analysis, review of supplier agreements.
• UAE projects were – Dubai Tower Dubai within Lagoons, and Creek Front Development.
• Bahrain project – this was a resort project in Bahrain and a proposed site for the Middle East summit.
• Reason for leaving – Due to the economic downturn, the projects had to be discontinued and all project staff were released from duty.

Finance Manager | Damac properties LLC | Nov 2006 to Jul 2008 | UAE

• I was responsible for the general ledger functions of all locations of the Group which includes UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom.
• Accounting, reporting and MIS for all locations and Group.

• Industry exposure – Container shipping and logistics (Intermodal transportation)
• The parent company was APL Ltd located in Oakland California and had a worldwide presence.
• I was responsible for the operational budgeting function of all locations in MEA.
• Other responsibilities included accounting, reporting and MIS for all MEA locations. Each OPCO location accountant was reporting to me in the Group.
• The total operating budget was USD 150 to 200 million.
• I was also the system administrator for all systems enhancement related to finance and operations costs.

• Industry exposure – Container shipping and logistics (Intermodal transportation)
• The parent company was APL Ltd located in Oakland California and had a worldwide presence.
• I was responsible for the finance and accounting and finance functions for Eastern India located in Kolkata.
• Major achievements include – clearance of 5 years of foreign remittances with RBI without any inquiry or attraction of penalty. I was instrumental in various process setups, quality projects, and staff training.
• I was also a process management and quality trainer from Eastern India.
